QJD Peking Duck Mississauga

An integrated restaurant entertainment project with a 250-inch LED wall, performance stage, coordinated lighting and six private VIP KTV rooms.

Project Background

QJD Peking Duck in Mississauga wanted its restaurant to support more than everyday dining. The main hall needed to welcome regular guests while also accommodating private parties, presentations and live performances. Six private VIP KTV rooms added another layer of entertainment within the same property.

Avvantage approached the project as a complete hospitality entertainment environment. Commercial audio, stage systems, performance lighting, a large video display and private karaoke were planned around how the restaurant would operate. The objective was a venue that could move between different experiences without making staff or guests manage a collection of unrelated systems.

The Challenge

The main dining hall’s very high ceiling and large open area made consistent audio coverage a central challenge. Speaker locations and dispersion needed to suit the seating layout, with enough clarity for speech and sufficient capacity for music and events. Comfortable dining and energetic performance also demanded different operating conditions from the same room.

Visual scale mattered as well. A conventional television would not provide the presence the client wanted for the stage. Meanwhile, the smaller VIP rooms required a more intimate approach, combining clear vocals and music with controlled feedback, considered equipment placement and straightforward song selection.

The Solution

The design separated the project into two coordinated areas: the main dining and performance space, and the six VIP KTV rooms. In the hall, audio coverage was planned around the room’s height and seating. The system was tuned to support background music during service and stronger output for celebrations and live entertainment.

A dedicated stage brought sound, lighting and visuals together. Performance lighting supported changes in atmosphere, while a 250-inch LED video wall became the stage’s visual centrepiece. The display can support presentation material, music videos and event graphics as part of the venue’s programming.

Each VIP room received a karaoke arrangement suited to its smaller dimensions. Audio calibration, microphone use and everyday controls were considered alongside the interior. Cabling and equipment were integrated to preserve a polished hospitality setting.
